Hello from Seoul

It's been just a little over 2 weeks since we arrived in Seoul on June 5, and I'm finally getting some sense of how to get around, at least in the downtown area. We spent our first week trekking all around downtown looking for an apartment. Gavin is already quite familiar with the layout of the city, but this was a good introduction for me, despite the hardship on my feet! There are some crazy drivers here, but Seoul is a walking city like New York and Paris, so we don't need a car to get around. Just the way I like it!

I received my first lesson in the Korean alphabet from a friend yesterday, so I plan to spend today sounding out signs like a 3-year old. My goal is to be able to read a simple menu in a few weeks, so that I can stop eating instant noodles from the convenience store.

Gavin has been working at his new job for a week now. We will move into our new apartment at the end of this week. In the meanwhile, you can click here to see some photos I've taken while exploring the city.
