Snow

Though there had been flurries a couple of weeks before, last Saturday evening brought the first snowstorm of the season. Huge flakes blanketed the city within an hour. I love that muffled moment after freshly fallen snow... and the crunch crunch of boots. The next morning, all the snow clinging to the tile rooftops made a pretty sight. Here's the snow on our roof.

I was hoping that the snow would stick in our madang (the stone courtyard area of a traditional Korean house), but I guess our house gives off too much heat for that. Still, it was nice to open our sliding doors in the morning and look up at the snow covered roofs near our house.

Unfortunately I don't have a lot of adventurous eating or cooking to report -- both Gavin and I have been busy with work. But my freelance gig is finished now, and we're off on a week-long trip to Thailand in a couple of days, so there will be plenty of pics coming your way...

I'll leave you with a few links to some strange videos that I've found inspiring this year: magical puppets, a thinking chair, a new take on dick and jane, a new musical instrument.
